The Low Emission Zone (LEZ)
The London Low Emission Zone (LEZ) is now in operation. The aim of the scheme is to improve air quality in the city by deterring the most polluting vehicles from driving in the area.

The vehicles affected by the LEZ are older diesel-engine lorries, buses, coaches, large vans, minibuses and other heavy vehicles. Cars, motorcycles and small vans are not affected by the LEZ.
